A lifted aroma of pronounced stone fruit, mainly nectarine, with lime and grapefruit also evident. Aromas of grilled nuts and spice highlight the compassionate use of French oak. The palate has power and weight of fresh stonefruit, harmonised by rolling chalky, mineral acidity and length. It sits somewhere in the sensible centre between the massive old-school styles and some of the almost anorexic modern versions of Australian Chardonnay. 'Glides effortlessly across the palate. It's complex but it demands nothing of the drinker. Pear, apple, cashew and grapefruit. Succulent midsection and a long, fleshy finish.'
