Caol Ila has remained undiscovered by many but has become much-prized by malts lovers across the world. Nestled in a hidden cove near Port Askaig. The isolated distillery built by Hector Henderson in 1846 has a rich heritage of producing fine malt whisky. Caol Ila 12 Year Old - Nose is fresh, herbal and smoky. On the palate, oily, cigar leaves, smoked ham and hickory. The finish is long, peppery, spicy warmth, smoke.

This is my number one favourite whisky. It is full of flavour and I savour and enjoy it when I can afford it - one nip, not a glass-full. It is not for the faint-hearted.
